Evergreen Ski School is the place to go if you're looking for top-quality ski and snowboard instruction in the Hakuba Valley. As the largest ski school in the valley, they offer a wide range of lessons and tours to suit all ages and abilities. With locations at Happo, Iwatake, Tsugaike, and Cortina, you'll have plenty of options for where to hit the slopes.

Evergreen Ski School offers something for everyone, including kids' lessons, group lessons, private lessons, and backcountry tours. You'll find a program right for you regardless of your skill level or goals. And if you book your lessons in conjunction with your accommodation through Evergreen, you can easily package everything together for a seamless ski or snowboard vacation. Happo One Ski School is a smaller more flexible school. They have about 10 English-speaking instructors who offer private lessons anywhere in the valley. They can offer you flexible start dates in the morning and afternoon. Half days are 2 hours and full days are 4 hours. They tend to be more reasonably priced as well.

NBS offers a truly personalized winter experience, with certified instructors ready to guide you on the slopes for 3 or 6 hours. Lessons are available at Iwatake or Norikura Ski Resorts, and we recommend booking in advance to secure the instructor of your choice. Up to 5 participants can join each session, though similar age and skill levels are advised for group lessons.

Hakuba47 Ski Academy International offers a tailored experience for English-speaking guests, with both group and private lessons conducted in English. Led by highly experienced local instructors and native English speakers, it’s one of the few Japanese-operated ski schools specifically designed for foreigners.

Frontier offers a boutique ski and snowboarding experience at Norikura Resort in Hakuba Valley, where internationally trained and qualified instructors guide you on the slopes with skill and passion. Lessons are held in English, with additional language support in Indonesian, Italian, and Spanish, making Frontier ideal for a diverse range of guests.

Snow Dragon International offers a fully customized and secure ski experience in Chinese, led by expert instructor Xiao Fu, who brings 28 years of experience. Located in Hakuba, each day-long course includes six hours of instruction and transport for JPY ¥100,000. Lessons start at 9:00 a.m. and are tailored to your level, ensuring a memorable day on the slopes with one of Japan’s most qualified instructors.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled ski or snowboard lesson start time. Lessons usually start on time, so it's important to be punctual. Please note that lesson prices do not include lift tickets or equipment rentals, which must be purchased separately.
