Choose from one of three ways to get to Hakuba from Osaka. We recommend the bullet train + express train as the most comfortable and quickest.
Osaka to Hakuba Bullet Train + Express Train
Board the train at Osaka International Airport to Shin-Osaka station to hop on the bullet train going towards Nagoya. Once you get to Nagoya Station, switch to the Shinano express train to Matsumoto Station; once you reach Matsumoto, you can continue via local train to Hakuba. Estimated time and cost: 6 hours, cost ¥14,970.

Osaka to Hakuba Express Train + Bullet Train + Local Train (Kanazawa Route)
Board the Thunderbird Express train from Osaka or Shin-Osaka station going towards Kanazawa. At Kanazawa station, switch to the bullet train to Itoigawa Station; once you reach Itoigawa, you can continue via local train to Hakuba. Estimated time and cost: 6.5 hours, cost ¥12,120.
Osaka to Hakuba Bus
There are a few Osaka to Hakuba overnight bus from near Osaka Station to Happo Bus Terminal. Alpico leaves at 20.40 and arrives at approximately 6:45 in the morning. Estimated time and cost: 10 hours, cost ¥10,300.

Car Rental from Osaka to Hakuba
Rent a car in Osaka and drive to Hakuba. Estimated time and cost: 5 h 50 min; rate depends on car size, but a Toyota Noah will run you around ¥20,900 per day from Toyota Rent a Car. Tolls are approximately ¥8,470 if you use the toll road.
Please remember that if you are coming to Hakuba in the wintertime, you will need to reserve 4WD winter tires as a special option with availability, depending on the pick-up location.
